چکیده
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect rolled barley supplementation on microbial composition and omasal flows bacterial, protozoal, nonmicrobial AA in cows fed fresh perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.; PRG). Ten ruminally cannulated multiparous Holstein averaging (mean ± standard deviation) 49 23 d milk 513 36 kg body weight were assigned 1 2 treatments a switchback design. treatment diets PRG only or plus 3.5 dry matter (G+RB). consisted three 29-d periods where each period 21 diet adaptation 8 data sample collection. A double-marker system used quantify nutrient flow entering canal along with 15N-ammonium sulfate label measure AA. Overall, had no liquid-associated particle-associated bacteria. Rolled affected concentrations protozoa; however, differences nutritionally minor. Particle-associated bacteria increased for all AA, except Trp Pro, G+RB diet. protozoal flow. On average, protozoa accounted 23% essential flow, which ranged from 17 28% Lys, respectively. true digesta compared PRG-only diet, resulting 228 g/d increase total This due an modestly contributed accounting 15.6% average. These results indicated that extensive ruminal degradation occurred (83.5%), we demonstrated consuming PRG-based exhibit large dependence support metabolizable supply. can diets. However, further research is required elucidate if supply higher yield under such dietary conditions.

Performance of lactating dairy cows fed alfalfa silage or perennial ryegrass silage.
The nutrient contents of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) and alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) are reasonably similar. Despite similarities, the lactation performance of dairy cows fed perennial ryegrass has not been compared with the lactation performance of dairy cows fed alfalfa. The present study was implemented to compare the performance of lactating cows fed alfalfa or perennial ryegras...

In New Zealand, agriculture is predominantly based on pastoral grazing systems and animal excreta deposited on soil during grazing have been identified as a major source of nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. Forage brassicas (Brassica spp.) have been increasingly used to improve lamb performance. Compared with conventional forage perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.), a common forage in New Zealan...

ACREMONIUM-ENDOPHYTES OF PERENNIAL RYEGRASS (Lolium perenne) IN FRANCE
13-17 ABSTRACT Infection with endophytic fungi (Acremonium spp.) was detected in seeds of wild populations of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) collected in France by private breeding companies and INRA. In total, 262 populations were examined and 70% contained Acremonium. It is worth noticing that most populations are endophyte infected but generally endophyte infection rates per population ...
متن کاملSupplementing barley or rapeseed meal to dairy cows fed grass-red clover silage: I. Rumen degradability and microbial flow.
The present study was conducted to measure the flow of microbial and nonmicrobial N fractions entering the omasal canal of lactating dairy cows fed grass-red clover silage supplemented with barley and rapeseed meal. Four ruminally cannulated Finnish Ayrshire dairy cows were fed, in a 4 x 4 Latin square design, grass-red clover silage alone or supplemented with (on DM basis) 5.1 kg/d of barley, ...
